Homes for all ages

Homes for all ages

Our work as designers and builders could not be otherwise, it is influenced by the needs of clients and the function of the spaces we design. The current trend is that of a multipurpose use of spaces and energy self-maintenance that respects the environment.

profiles found, classic and modern

There are two types of homes that further demand our services today, those dedicated to the needs of “millennials” and those that take into account the aging of the population with very specific characteristics. For these two groups, co-housing (shared housing) is being offered as an alternative to their problems (economic in the case of millennials, and space and company in the case of the elderly).

In this aspect, the homes are characterized by having spaces that are easily adaptable, as well as combining the search for spaces for collective use, meeting and sharing moments of the day; At the same time, certain areas of greater privacy are reserved that are isolated from the rest of the home, seeking to establish a synergy between the spaces that allow us to manage coexistence at the group and/or individual level.

reform and reuse, architectural awareness

Another trend ecologist is to reform and update already built homes. In this field, our work It focuses mainly on adapting spaces to current needs and making them energy self-sufficient.

The option of reforms is one of the most widespread today; The economic crisis and the difficulty of accessing housing, as well as the scarcity of land in some cities, have developed the demand to adapt old homes to current needs. Homes with double entrances (main entrance and service entrance) were common, something that currently offers a lot of flexibility to be able to make two homes in one. Generally, the service entrances included the part of the house intended for a kitchen and a room and toilet for the service, which currently translates into apartments; being the remaining part of the home rescued as the main home (we must note that currently the surface area of the homes has also decreased significantly due mainly to the high prices per square meter).

imagination, respect and versatility

As in other artistic disciplines, imagination is one of the main protagonists when it comes to achieving a good design. It is equally important that the final client of the home stipulates the parameters of use and functionality that he or she demands in the home, as well as that the architect knows how to merge these instructions to achieve a home recipe that is original and functional, while respecting the needs of its future inhabitants. When this happens, the final product enjoys great versatility of spaces that generate an optimal final result for the client, since the home has both the requirements that the client stipulated, as well as the architectural elements of design, efficiency and energy savings that will make the home a unique product.
